Southern Counties Individual Championship 2026/27

This year the Southern Counties Individual Championship will be hosted in the OPEN section of:

54th Thanet FIDE Congress,
Friday 9th to Sunday 11th October,
The Sports Hall, Baypoint Club, Ramsgate Road, Sandwich, Kent CT13 9QL

The SCCU Individual Champion will be awarded the Glenroy Cup (to be held for  one year), receive £100 prize money and be awarded a place in the British Chess Championship 2027 (dates to be determined).

The SCCU Championship is open to players of the seven member counties: Berkshire, Essex, Hertfordshire, Kent, Middlesex, Surrey  and Sussex.

Given the unfortunate clash between this event and the 4NCL weekend, this might be your best ever chance to gain entry into the British Chess Championships!
