EACU County Championship

Hertfordshire plays in the u1850 section of the East Anglian Chess Union (EACU) County Championship from which two teams qualify to compete in the ECF County Championship.

EACU matches comprise 12 boards and will be played at King Edward VII Memorial Hall, High Street, Newmarket, Suffolk, CB8 8JP on these dates:

• Sunday 29 October 2023 - Herts v Suffolk (am) - Herts v Cambs (pm)
• Sunday 4 February 2024 - Herts v Norfolk (am) - Herts v Suffolk (pm)
• Sunday 3 March 2024 - Herts v Cambs (am) - Herts v Norfolk (pm)

The ECF Championship typically has a three round Knock Out format with matches played over 16 boards. Matches are played at the home team's venue or, when the distance between the counties is great, at a neutral venue at an agreed halfway point.
